World Pancreatic Cancer Day 2019

November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, and today (21st November) is World Pancreatic Cancer Day. Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all common cancers and sadly only around 5% of those diagnosed with this cancer type survive for 5 years with their disease. That’s why here at the Barts Cancer Institute, we are working to develop techniques to detect pancreatic cancer at its very earliest stages, identify new targets for therapy and develop new approaches that attack the tissues supporting the tumour to stop cancer progression.
